Glentrool Visitor Centre is the starting point for the Glentrool Horse Trail in Galloway Forest Park. Newton Stewart is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart take A714 signposted to Girvan for eight miles. Take right turn at Bargrennan signposted Galloway Forest Park. Take next right turn just past Glentrool village signpost to Glentrool Visitor Centre.
