Glentrool

glentrool_200.jpgGlentrool has been referred to as the Highlands in miniature and entertains the visitor with its wild beauty and intriguing history.

There are numerous short walks in the area, in addition to the Southern Upland Way which cuts close by. For the experienced walker, Glentrool hosts Southern Scotland’s highest mountain, the Merrick. Views from this point encompass the solitude of lochs Enoch and Neldricken and you can walk beside Loch Trool.

Cafe and toilet facilities are available at the Glentrool Visitor Centre, but opening hours are seasonal!
