Glen Trool, has been often referred to as Galloway's "jewel in the crown", due to its raw beauty and fascinating history. Home to Southern Scotland's highest mountain - the majestic Merrick.

Climb Merrick and stand proudly on top of Galloway while enjoying views of lonely hill lochs such as Enoch and Neldricken, or gaze down along ridges with names like Rig of the Gloon. Walk beside Loch Trool where battles were lost and won. Walk or cycle the Glen Trool trails and find out more about this rugged, yet captivating corner of Galloway.

Glen Trool is part of Galloway Forest Park. Glen Trool is the nearest town or village.

From Newton Stewart: Take the A714 signposted Girvan. Turn right, signposted Glen Trool village.
