The Carrick Cycle Trail takes you on an exhillarating journey around Loch Braden, with the alternate option of cycling across the hill to Loch Doon.
As a result of the high-level routes, there are some fantastic panoramic views down across the rolling hills and the winding rivers and burns.
Although the trail between Loch Braden and Loch Doon is linear, the remaining four cycle routes are all circular and at some point, come into contact with a public road.
The 14 mile Carrick Cycle Trail can be started from Carrick - Loch Doon in Galloway Forest Park. Dalmellington is the nearest town or village.
From Dalmellington:1 mile south of Dalmellington turn off the A713 - signed Galloway Forest Park. Follow this road for 8 miles along the side of Loch Doon.
