Details Bennan Wood is just one of the smaller woods that help make up the larger forest, The Galloway Forest Park. The Bennan is situated near the picturesque village of New Galloway. This is a lovely wood which closely runs alongside the edge of Loch Ken, allowing the visitor superb views across the water. The wood offers an assortment of way-marked trails from a gentle stroll to a more strenuous ramble through the breathtaking countryside of Galloway. Bennan Wood is in Galloway Forest Park. New Galloway and Laureiston are the nearest towns or villages. From Newton Stewart: Take the A712 signposted New Galloway, from New Galloway take the A762 signposted Laurieston.
